The UCLA/USC game is never without worth. In this 2016 edition, there is still a chance that the Trojans could win the Pac-12 South. For UCLA, they would be lucky to find themselves in the bowl season.

The game has been moved to 7:30 pm Pacific Time, which effectively buries it in the wasteland of Saturday evening viewing. Although, it will be on ESPN and be called the College Football Finale. The Trojans need to win out, and hope that Colorado falls down against Washington State. The UCLA Bruins have a good chance to end their season in the week after against Cal. At the beginning of the season, it was expected that UCLA was the team to beat. USC is probably right where they were expected to be, in the thick of the South race. The Bruins have lost their main quarterback, and have to go to their backup. Thirty years ago, a backup quarterback, Matt Stevens, punished the Trojans 31-0 at the half and finished 45-25. This is the legendary Hail Mary and In Your Face game.
